Every organization has an origin story. Ours started small — smaller than most people would guess when they see what FAITHEX Foundation has become.
Where It Started
Back in October 2024, there was no foundation. No name like FAITHEX, no logo, no website. Just a study group — JOGO — a handful of us coming together because we cared about learning, and about helping young people take their education seriously.
It wasn't a grand plan. It was a group of people who kept showing up.
Alongside my co-founders — Ojonekeche Ochoche, Moses Aaron, and David Ochidoma — we kept building on that simple idea. Study sessions turned into mentorship. Mentorship turned into a bigger question: what if this could be something more structured, more intentional, something that could actually reach further than the room we were meeting in?
Honestly, this way of thinking didn't start with JOGO. Back in SSS3, I organized free lesson sessions for students preparing for WAEC, NECO, and JAMB — no fees, just a genuine desire to see people succeed. Around the same time, as president of my school's Fellowship of Christian Students, I helped sponsor a visitation to Children of Mary Orphanage in Otukpo, spending time with the children there and reminding myself what all of this is really for. Looking back, those moments were the seeds. FAITHEX didn't start from nothing — it grew out of a habit of showing up for people that I'd already been building.
Becoming FAITHEX
By November 2025, that question had an answer. JOGO Study Group became FAITHEX Foundation — an educational organization based in Otukpo, Benue State, built around one clear mission: raising purpose-driven young people.
That word — purpose — isn't just a nice phrase for us. It's the whole point. We didn't want to just help students pass exams. We wanted to help them understand who they are and what they're capable of becoming. Academic mentorship, leadership development, workshops, one-on-one coaching — all of it exists in service of that bigger goal.
Where It's Going
We're still building. What started as a study group has grown into a real foundation with a live website, a member community, and programs that are helping students right now — but we're not close to finished.
We're working on a bigger version of everything: more programs, more structured support for members, a proper space for students to track their growth and stay connected to the community. It's a lot of building ahead — but that's always been how FAITHEX has grown. Not in one leap, but one deliberate step at a time.
